Over the Hill Pottery is the result of years of my being captivated by other potters, and of being inspired by the passion and creativity of the potters I've been fortunate to have as instructors. Among those are Renee Altman, Bill Van Gilder, and Donna Winchell.
My studio is in a converted 1930s detached garage behind our house in Alexandria,Virginia. The structure leaned about 10 degrees to the right and flooded with every rainstorm when we first bought our house. What used to be a hole in the roof, is now one of two skylights.
Being in my studio, literally up to my elbows in mud is my idea of time well spent. Anyone who has a passion for which they don't have enough time knows what I mean.

CURRENT NEWS:
Holiday preparations are in high gear. Months of experimentation have brought me to a new medium blue glaze that has a high gloss finish and a white glaze with a matte or waxy finish. Both glazes are illustrated in the photos. They were very popular at Art on the Avenue.
Baby sets, which include a mug bowl and plate, or, if you prefer, just a mug and bowl, also generated a lot of interest at the festival.
Contact me by email if you are interested in any of the pieces you see here.
